I introduce you to a marvelous voice from the Canadian music scene. Jenae! Hi and welcome to the ezine, how's life?

Well life is good. Currently working on getting my first CD out there and ready for the public. I have about 20 songs now available for free download. Keep in mind they are demo's. None have been mastered yet but it gives you a idea of what my music is and how I put my emotion into it. I am currently working on a piano cd as well. I wrote my first one "SING" last week. I really enjoy writting music. I just need to get it listened to by the right people. I think I have what it takes to be a rock star, ha ha... i'm no Britney but I think im cute enough he he.

You started quite young in the music scene how old?

My family was very musical when I was young. I started singin songs when I was 2 years old. Family would get together every morning and we would sing and record on a old tape player. That was what my mother told me. I was to young to remember. I started performing when I was 6 years old. I also began writting lyrics to songs at the age of 11. I joined every contest I could find in my hometown of Edmonton. When I was 15 I moved to Branson Missouri and did some country music. It was fun but moved back home in 1998. Finally I got a job dj karaoke in the city of Edmonton. One of my shows were dead so I started randomly emailing people on msn. I ended up emailing Corey Johnson. Corey came down to meet me and he heard me sing. He invited me down to his studio. That is when we wrote the song "waiting" and he fell in love with my voice. Since November 2001 me and Corey have been writting songs non stop.

It shows you have a beautiful voice! What is the most difficult part of creating?

The most difficult part, hmmm... I would have to say the harmonies. You have to create cool harmonies in order for the song to be different, but you can't have to many harmonies or the song sounds very dum.. so lots of the time the harmonies take way longer than creating the lead line.

What project are you currently involved in?

Currently I am working with a band called PROMIZE in Greenfield Ma. USA. They are going to be using two of my songs on thier CD entitled "Alice". The songs they are using is "GOODBYE" and "MISPLACED". Their lead singer Shelby Sousa will be doing lead on my two songs. They have changed them a bit, so you can take a listen to thier versions of my songs at http://www.promize.com/ I have also got a deal with promize and miramax films for my song goodbye. I am not sure what movie the song will be in, but it will be my version of "Goodbye" not promizes. I am also going to be doing a soundtrack for a local independent film here in canada. It will be lots of fun. Also as I said before, I am working on a piano album, so far its not too bad. GOODBYE, SING, SPIRIT, FLY, FEEL are my piano ballads.

What theme do you favour?

My cd when it comes out will be called "a place among the fallen" my music is a little sad, but it allows everyone to connect to my music, to my emotions that I display. I did not want some song with some words put on paper I wanted meaning and so each song will mean something different to everyone that listens to it.

What musical instrument you prefer to play?

Well to be honest, I don't play anything. All that credit goes to my producer and engineer Corey Johnson. When me and him are together in the studio, we are so close that our music shows how close we are. I really love working with corey.

What are you listening to lately?

Well I listen to everything. My favorite singer I would have to say is Sarah M, coming up second is Alanis M and in third is Tori Amos. Those are my top singers I enjoy listening to.

If you could jam with anyone who would it be?

It would so be Sarah M. I love her voice, and I love her emotions she puts in her songs. Its like me.

What "message" you think need to be said? " experience life and you will experience forever " i made up that saying myself cause I truly believe it. Don't worry if it dont make sense to you, really read it, it does make sense :D
