Pour l'entrevue en francaisclickez ici Sexcellent !!! I know it's not a simple thing in your case, considering all the influences felt in your music. but how would you define your musical reggae style? Unusual and original. In others, MY WAY. I had the chance to catch a live concert of Peter Tosh in calgary canada. But since those early days of Reggae I was getting bored by artists who simply copied the beat. Until you came on the scene! What made you break the mold so to speak? I don't like to be like anyone else. Peter Tosh was actually one of my teachers. And Peter's son was my roommate in Negril, Jamaica. So, it is very interesting that you mentioned that name. The biggest Reggae hub on the web. Reggae street.com closed it's door recently. Much to my dismay! As they featured lots of new talents... Do you have a favorite reggae site? I don't have a favorite site. But I give respect and love to any site that is keeping reggae alive. Speaking of which I invite all reggae fans to visit http://www.mysticbowie.net One mighty Kewl site! Thank you. The "Songbird" clip is very upbeat I only have one complaint with your sound clips they are too short:-) Any chance of getting at least one full song on your site? Yes, I can have that arranged. Your Biography certainly is a tribute to your talent, And the list of headliners certainly proves it. If you could only name one, Which was the most artistically satisfying to work with? Definitely, the Tom Tom Club. All the artists I have worked with are all so different which I like. I never get bored doing the same thing and doing the same kind of music. What is for you the most challenging part of creating? Space. I need to be by myself for the most part. That is why I do most of my creations in the hills of Jamaica away from the concrete jungle and back into nature. I compose better while listening to the sounds of birds, wind blowing in the air, and water running freely through the rocks. On a very personal level What was the most thrilling moment of your career? My biggest thrills happen when schools ask me to do cultural workshops where my music can reach children and watch them dance. I love to see the smiles it brings to their faces. Looking at the picture gallerie on your site, The camera loves you but do you love the camera? Sometimes. But some photographers try to get a little too personal. If I am asked to be taking a picture of, that's irie. But, some photographers have a habit of catching me off guard. Most of the photos on my web site have been taken by Francey who travels with us on tour and he does a great job taking photos- So, nuf respect to Francey for the photos!! So what is the next challenge for Mystic Bowie? To have my music reach all the ears that like to hear good music and the minds that open to absorb good art. I must thank you for participating in this interview! You're most welcome. And 'nuf respect to you and your readers for their full support. Any parting message for our readers? Keep the party pumpin', but do it safe safely.
