The Reggae world has a new CD to count on. It is the work of Piankhy. Who has taken time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions. Hi and welcome to the ezine how are you?

I am at peace! Who would you credit as your musical mentor?

The ABBYSSIANS,Bob Marley,and Russell Thompkins Jr.of the Stylistics.

Your cd is a great piece of work, tell us who is involved in it?

Carlton Jeffery aka.Jah B and Noel Jackson the engineer of Nyah studios.

Jah B was the first bassist for Agustus Pablo.

Rosa my musical matriach for the past 8 years.

The other females i work with musically they come and go but Rosa has been my musical stalwart for the past 8 years.Destini,Nikita.Wafeeq Talliferro who collaborated with me years ago in the composition of ``Thoughts concerning you"and ``Just as long".On ``Thoughts concerning you",

``Just as long" and ``Sweet Reggae music" i do all the arrangement there vocals and music wise.

After the death of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh many where quick to predict the death of reggae yet here we are in the dawn of the 21st century and still reggae is very much alive. What do you attribute this longevity to?

Don`t they know that Black seeds keep on growing and that there is a fountain that never runs dry.

Is there sufficient young ones coming up to ensure a healthy renewal of the reggae stylings for the future in your opinion?

The Creative heaven and earth always brings to birth and to the fore all those who are called to the task in the fullness of time.

To get back to the cd a moment, Sweet Reggae 2, is named well. These are truly really sweet sounds. What prompted you to select these particular songs?

Since the death of Peter Tosh and Bob Marley great damage has been done to the institution of Reggae.

Save for a few people the standard fell way below.

I dedicate this album and every other composition here after to the upliftment of true roots rock reggae.Lets have some clean fun.

This is probably an unfair question however if you had to pick one song from the cd which would you say is the most important to you personally and why?

Without hesitation ``Thoughts concerning you".Not because i composed it but it`s one of the most lyrically potent love songs i`ve heard in a long while.The delivery..the chorous.Its succulent.It`s nourishing,and what makes it most unique it`s in reggae form.

Being as you are, also an actor, are there plans for the big screen in the near future?

Yes Claude without a doubt.However i am very particular about the roles i play. What is the most difficult part of creating?

The human element.
