Welcome to the zine how's everyone? Gasper: Everything's going great. How have you been Claude? Your 3 song demo is a blast! And surprisingly tight for a new band. Which leads me to beleive this is not your first musical ventures. Give us a little individual history? Mike: Well, we've all been in various bands growing up, but we were really happy when we came together because of how great we clicked. It didn't take long at all to get the sound out. I’ve been in many bands since I was a kid They ranged from pop/Rock to Nu Metal and I also messed around with some electronic music when I was younger. I’ve been playing since I was 4, I’ve been involved in music for a long time. Pat has been involved in a couple of Rock groups and Gasper has always been involved in rock bands and acoustic/ piano projects. Any idea when you’re first full CD will be available? Don't worry we won't hold you to it :) Mike: We are going to be recording in the fall So between Pre Production and Tracking I think around December/ January. Your songs are getting a lot of attention already which is a tribute to your talent. Can you tell us more about it! Gasper: Well, we're all really into the early eighties stuff like Duran Duran, Billy Idol, The Cars, and growing up in the nineties, we were surrounded by great modern rock. I guess our sound is an unconscious mix of the two! Mike: The songs have been getting a lot of buzz around the net We where showcased on Demo Diaries and Kings of A & R, both are highly respected sites who specialize in showcasing top indie talent. Right now we have been contacted from about 6 U.S. Labels And are planning to shop around to others when more music is ready to go. I think the fact that our influences are very different then what you might find today and the constant pressure we put on ourselves to deliver with good song structures and catchy hooks I think has helped. We call are sound Retro/Alternative It is a mix of the Old and the new Okay guy's now get ready for this one! When not being musicians what do you do for fun? Gasper: The usual, meet with friends, hang out, wine and dine. As long as it involves a party. What is for each of you the hardest part of creating? Gasper: Well, juggling between my job and the band can be overwhelming at times. Mike For me, The hardest part of creating is when I force the songs out or when I try to repeat writing something I have written before. I think the worst mistake any writer can do is not let the song be what it is. People always put themselves under the gun and force their music to be a certain way. Each song should be it’s own they are different experiences different memories, they should hold their own. Another mistake I make is trying to write when I am not feeling anything. When I spend to much time locked up inside recording my writing gets a little weird, My best Ideas come out when I am out experiencing things or after a couple of Heinekens . I am a moody person and could be a bit of an asshole sometimes but it helps my writing. I love it because I get to express my different moods through music in many different ways. My main strategy is to stay true to the songs and stay true to myself when I write and be your worst critic because your friends won’t be. What is the "weirdest" job you had to do to earn a living? Pat: Working the 3AM shift at my job when I got home at 2AM after a night of partying What is the subject of choice for your lyrics? What's going on around me, in my life. Sometimes I draw lyrics from personal experiences, and sometimes on a vibe I'm picking up from the city. I guess each song is a reflection of my life at that moment. Mike: I write lyrics in the same way as Gasper. I also draw from other peoples stories experiences, sometime it is fun writing from the perspective of looking into someone else’s world. Any particular devoted fans you would like to acknowledge? Mike: Basically all the people who have been supporting us there are a lot of you. You guys know who you are and we just want to say THANKS!!!!!!! What do you find the most exciting with today's music scene? Gasper: How rock n' roll is damn sexy. Mike & Pat: AGREED!!!!! I want to thank you all for taking the time to answer these questions.Any last words for the readers? Stay true to yourself and always do what you want to do!
