John Scott Cree Review of "Now and Then" of John Scott Cree and Ron Trueman-Border Wow! What a fun listen:-) From the opening song "Death of me" A smile hetch itself on your face. The music is down home pure mixture of folk and blues. And the lyrics range from the irreverent to the down right humorous. The chemistry between these two is magical and make you wish for many more collaborations in the future. Instruments wise, guitars, bass guitars, keyboards mandoline, drum machines are expertly handled by Ron trueman-Border More guitars are masterfully played by John Scott Cree. Guest musicians includes:
Jim "thunderbolt" Pitts on Saxes Worthy of particular mention is also "Burn up" Where the voices are so tight as to mesh perfectly.. And the Brass lines are great. So in conclusion, a more than worthy addition to your cdtheque I listened to it it's in entirety 3 times in the last day. And I know it will be a regular on my overworked tray:-) I give it a 4 microphones out of 5
