Marty Namaro Abstractionism CD Review OK I admit it I hesitated to review this one! Why? Because it's jazz... I don't really feel qualified So in fairness I will limit myself to my impressions. Be that as they may. All in all I like it! There are quite a few tune that really grabbed my attention "Ode to Wells" to name one. Marty Namaro plays piano, drums and percussion with savy on this CD! A well rounded musician his mastery of the keyboard is evident. I will have to leave the critic of the jazz itself to one who really knows it. But if you are a true afficionado of the genre I would bet you would truly enjoy it. "Hidden demons" plays like a soundtrack for a suspense gothic movie. Many of the pieces I would term as mood or atmosphere type track. For all of the above I give it a 3 1/2 microphones out of five... Even though i am sure jazz fans would no doubt give it more...
